Pioneering infrastructure in Myanmar – the last frontier for wind power

Kenneth Goh is Programme Manager at InfraCo Asia. He oversees InfraCo Asia’s contracted developer teams, covering a portfolio of 20 projects covering South and Southeast Asia. ICM is InfraCo Asia’s contracted developer team for Myanmar, where InfraCo Asia’s programme is funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), a member of the Private Infrastructure Development Group.

The Right Team for the Job

Prior to her retirement from the legal industry, InfraCo Asia Non-Executive Director Amy Lee was a consultant with Singapore boutique law firm, Tan Kok Quan Partnership, where she specialised in infrastructure developments and government advisory work. Decades of experience working on projects in the region built up her belief that right mix of people is the key element in bringing new infrastructure initiatives to life.

Three ways in which InfraCo Asia is empowering women and girls

Claudine Lim, Chief Operating Officer of InfraCo Asia, is a long-term advocate of the empowerment of women and girls. Along with being a key contributor to PIDG’s Gender Task Force, Claudine is also chairperson of Aidha, a social enterprise which provides courses to improve the financial literacy of foreign domestic workers and lower-income women in Singapore.

Notes from the field: Ninh Thuan Solar Power

Prabaljit Sarkar, Director of Business Development at InfraCo Asia, was an instrumental part of the team that developed the recently commissioned 168MWp Ninh Thuan Solar Power project in Vietnam. ‘Fundamentally Innovative’ and Ready to Scale

In March 2018, Andy Bainbridge commenced his role as Chair of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), a multi-donor organisation that catalyses private investment in infrastructure in the frontier markets of sub-Saharan Africa and South and South-East Asia to boost economic development and combat poverty.

A private-sector leader with a longtime infrastructure focus, Andy is also the Group Chief Executive Officer of SBM Holdings Ltd. He was previously Global Head of Commercial Clients and the Chief Risk Officer for the Western Hemisphere for Standard Chartered. Andy has spent more than 20 years working in emerging markets, including 8 years as Chair of PIDG’s Infrastructure Crisis Facility Debt Pool and 10 years on the board of fellow PIDG company, GuarantCo, serving half of that time as GuarantCo’s Chair.
